Student Handbook

Welcome to the Rhythm of Learning Music School!  We want your experience to be pleasant and fruitful.  Below are important policies that you should be aware of during you or your child’s time at the Rhythm of Learning Music School.  If you have any questions regarding these policies, please stop by our front desk or ask your private teacher about any concerns that may arise.

Attendance Policy

PRIVATE LESSONS

Private lessons typically will take place once a week during a certain allotted time each week. Your enrollment reserves a specific date and time slot in your instructor’s schedule. If the student is attending Zoom/Skype lessons, the student must call the school at (847) 281-7222 to schedule the date and time of the lesson.

GROUP LESSONS

Your enrollment reserves a specific date and time in your instructor’s schedule.  If the student is attending group lessons, the student or student’s guardian must come to The Rhythm of Learning Music School to select the date and time of the group lesson.

The Rhythm of Learning Music School does NOT provide refunds for student absences which include, but are not limited to: travel, school, illness, etc. Like other professional services, we reserve a specific day of the week and time slot in your instructor’s schedule, which we are unable to fill in your absence. In the event of an expected absence, faculty absence, or Rhythm of Learning Music School closure, your instructor will offer two (2) dates to reschedule your lesson within the next month or another instructor will substitute for that lesson. Additional time can also be added to the following lessons to make up for the missed lesson time.  If the student is absent from the agreed upon rescheduled lesson time, the lesson will be considered a student absence and will not be refunded. If you are unable to attend either of the two (2) rescheduled dates, the lesson will be forfeited and will not be refunded.

If you are unable to attend your lesson in person, we encourage you to schedule a Zoom/Skype lesson or send a recording of a piece you are working on for your instructor to provide feedback via email.

The Rhythm of Learning Music School must be given 24-hour notice before an absence or the lesson will not be made up and payment will not be refunded.evening lessons.
